God has blessed me with connections to like-minded writers who are passionate about sharing God’s word. Women who place a high priority on knowing, living, and investing the scripture, like Jana Carlson from Wield the Word. Jana is currently offering a series titled Women Wielding the Word with multiple writers offering their testimonies of how the Bible has impacted their lives. I had the privilege of sharing the importance of scripture in my own life, in my post titled How to Live Surrendered to and Saturated with God’s Word.
I love thinking back over all God has done in me, and the transformation is truly amazing. His word is precious to me, and I am passionate about helping other women to know, live, and invest the scriptures themselves. If you are having difficulty with reading the Bible, or understanding it, I encourage you to keep at it. Start with the book of John, and then read Romans. You could also read a Psalm and a Proverb every day, because they are quick to read, and give us wisdom, and knowledge of the character of God.
Discipleship
Discipleship was a game-changer for me. My husband and I got matched up with our Pastor and his wife to study 16 lessons on the major doctrines in the Bible. We met weekly for prayer, Bible study, and fellowship, as well as getting our plethora of questions answered. This couple was so patient with us and blessed us tremendously. They taught us how to study the Bible, the importance of scripture memory, and our biblical roles and responsibilities.
My husband and I completed discipleship and continued our studies, including the Heartland Bible Institute, where we both graduated from. Because of our diligence to learn God’s word and apply it, we were prepared for the work God called us to in planting a church, where my husband is the Pastor. God continues to teach us his word, and we are thankful to be his disciples. At His feet is the best place in the world to be.
God’s Word is the final authority on every issue of life – from marriage to motherhood to ministry and everything in between. Share on X
