You are Loved and Cherished by God

I am so grateful for Jesus.  He has changed my life in so many ways.  I wish I would have surrendered my life to him way sooner than I did.  It took me 29 years to be broken over my sin and place my faith in Jesus.  By that time, I had racked so many regrets.

But, God redeemed me and gave me a new heart, mind, life, and identity.  He taught me my identity is in Christ alone, not in anyone or anything else. My biological father didn’t want me, and that abandonment as a child left me broken and damaged.  I spent many years chasing validation and love in all the wrong places.

God healed those wounds by teaching me that I am loved and cherished by God, and secure in Christ. Of course, the devil knows where I am weak, so I still have my insecure moments.  But when I get my mind on who I am in Christ, a child of God, dearly loved and cherished by God, then those insecurities flee.

Psalm 28:7~ The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Loved and Cherished by God

I have so much compassion for girls who are plagued with the same insecurities I was. It breaks my heart to see girls discouraged, defeated, and depressed because they don’t feel loved.   Many girls don’t know their value in God’s eyes.  That’s why I’m excited to share with you a new resource for girls, Loved & Cherished 100 Devotions for Girls, by Lynn Cowell and Michelle Nietert.

The back cover says:

Am I loved?  Do I matter?  Am I worth it?

Almost every girl your age is asking the same questions.  Sometimes we think what we do, what we say, or what others say about us changes our worth.  We worry that we have to be perfect to be loved.  But as children of God, we can be confident that we are loved, cherished, and secure because God loves us no matter what.

This devotional written just for girls like you includes Bible verses about God’s love, thoughts about those verses, questions for journaling or thinking, and ideas for ways to talk with God just as you are.  When you live as God’s chosen girl, you can hold your head high no matter what the day brings.  You are safe.  You are cherished. You are loved.

This devotional is absolutely beautiful!  I so wish I would have had it when I was a girl.  I love the cover, the content, and the concept.  The daily devotions contain engaging stories and explanations of the scripture for that day. The practical applications and prayers that close each day are so encouraging.

There were several devotions that just blessed my heart, even though I’m well past the “girl” stage.

If you have a girl in your life who needs to know she is loved and cherished by God, I encourage you to get this devotional for her! It would make a great Christmas gift!

Rest in His love

God lavishes his love on his children every minute of every day.  We don’t always recognize his love, reciprocate his love, or rest in his love, but we can change that.  Just make a list of all of the ways God has proved his love to you today, this week, or this year.  Praise him for each one!

Jesus said, if you love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15)  Our obedience proves our love to God.  When we choose to walk in the Spirit instead of in the flesh, we showcase our love and reverence for God.

On the flip side, if we continuously walk in rebellion against God’s word, how can we claim to love him?

We may not always feel loved and cherished by God, but feelings are not facts.  Remember, just because we think it, or feel it, doesn’t mean it is true.  Always return to what the word of God says.  It is true, it is right, and God is faithful.

Content in His Love

I am content in His love and care for me, strengthened and steady, confident in his everlasting love for me, because God’s word is in my heart and mind. I can live loved, and so can you.

Stand on the truth of scripture today, believe that you are dearly loved and cherished by God, and share his love with someone else today.

Psalm 63:3~ Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
