18 Psalms for a Sober Mind in Suffering (KJV)

Whether it’s chronic pain and illness, divorce and drama, or persecution and prodigal children, a sober mind is essential when we are suffering. It helps us view our difficulties through the lens of what is true according to God’s word instead of our emotions. And being sober-minded shifts our perspective from all that’s wrong to the blessings in the midst of the burdens. A sober mind is a disciplined, sound mind, that is obtained by renewing your mind with the Bible.

Sometimes our situations seem so overwhelming and cause us to feel helpless and hopeless. But that is simply not true for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Feelings are not facts and they can’t be trusted, but what God says in his word is true and faithful.  Here are 18 scriptures for a sober mind in suffering that help me through my own afflictions.

Just because you think it or feel it doesn't make it true. Click To Tweet
