Believing these truths about God and trusting Him to work on our behalf renews our minds, revives our hearts, and restores our hope.
7 Truths to Remember About God in Times of Trouble
We must get our minds off the trials and tribulations and onto the One who carries us through them.
Memorizing this list will help us trust God in times of trouble, and focus on what matters in our suffering. This leads to us being sober-minded, Spirit-filled, victorious, and virtuous women.
- God is on the throne. Psalm 18:6 KJV – In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. Psalm 103:19 KJV – The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
- God is good. Psalm 86:5 KJV – For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Psalm 107:1 KJV – O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
- God’s word is true. John 17:17 KJV – Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Psalm 119:160 KJV – Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
- God loves you. Romans 5:8 KJV – But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. John 3:16 KJV – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- God is with you. Psalm 46:7 KJV – The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Isaiah 41:10 KJV – Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
- God is for you. Romans 8:31 KJV – What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Psalm 118:6 KJV – The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
- God’s grace is sufficient. 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV – And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Hebrews 4:16 KJV – Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Each one of these truths helps us to fix our eyes on Jesus and rest in His sovereignty and sufficiency. Once we change our minds about our circumstances and see them in light of the character of God, peace rules our hearts.
We can trust God in times of trouble. ALWAYS! He is there. He sees, hears, knows, and is working all things out for our good and His glory. His love for us is infinite and His timing is perfect.
No matter what difficult circumstances we are facing, we can believe God is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do.
